The Golden Dawn offers a range of dive sites that take advantage of the best weather conditions for each area. Each dive site offers different underwater landscapes, marine life and an entirely different experience! On each itinerary, divers will also get the chance to visit a number of locations on land including cultural villages, picturesque beaches and lush rainforests.

Diving locations include;

The Coral Sea’ (Eastern Fields – November – December & April – May
Known for its mantas, turtles and sharks including both whale, silver tip and hammerhead sharks the Coral Sea offers a fantastic itinerary. More exotic creatures include the Lacy Scorpion fish, Pygmy Seahorse, Tasselled Wobbegongs and more! Wewak
This area offers common sightings of grey reef sharks, some silver tips and then a plethora of rays, which include the eagle rays, cow rays, mobula rays, and manta rays.

Milne Bay – March, June & October
Mantas and ‘muck’ macro are frequent in Milne Bay. Here in shallow water, large coral boulders, with a healthy cover of soft corals are scattered over a sandy ocean floor. Big sweet lips, groupers, hump headed parrotfish and even dugong make an appearance.

Madang – June – September
Madang offers a great mixture of everything including the majestic hammerhead sharks.

Kavieng
Kavieng is known for its pelagics. The strong incoming currents act as magnets to the schools of trevally, barracuda, grey reef sharks, eagle rays and reef fish. There are also a number of world-class wrecks to be seen and the deep water west from New Hanover is an oceanic passage for large creatures such as orcas and sperm whales.
