ABOUT KUNIE DIVE CENTRE
Kunie Dive Centre is located in the Ouameo Bay next to Kodjeue Hotel. The shop has access to diving throughout Gadji Bay in which divers get the thrill of exploring lagoons, caves, coral reef and more! The shop offers fun dives for beginners, right through to cave diving for the more experienced diver. There is also the option of night diving and snorkelling. With 20 dive sites (and growing) in Gadji Bay, there is plenty to explore. The team at Kunie are all a fun, professional and multilingual bunch that will ensure both your safety and enjoyment of every dive.
DIVING
The diving in Gadji Bay consists of channels, walls, pinnacles and caves, each providing a unique diving experience. Regardless of the wind direction, the orientation of the island allows the dive crew to be able to choose a dive site protected from the wind. Depths at each site range between 5 and 50 metres and boast a myriad of soft corals, gorgonian fans, alcyonnaires and sponges. The marine life in New Caledonia is abundant, with everything from nudibranchs to schooling pelagics and leopard sharks.
Kunie Dive Centre – Schooling Snapper
For the more experienced diver, explore the ‘Grotte De La Troisieme’, an inland limestone freshwater cave. Located deep within the rainforest of the Isle of Pines, the cave is almost hidden by trees and roots. “Start with a steep climb down to a freshwater pool, where a narrow passage leads to a pair of huge rooms, one lighted by a single shaft of light from a hole in the stalactite-lined ceiling.”
