Blue Lagoon Resort – Beach

Blue Lagoon Resort is Truk Lagoon’s first and largest diving facility. It is located at the epicentre of ‘Operation Hailstone’, meaning distance to Truk’s best dive sites is only a short motor away. There are 10 dive masters working at the shop along with a number of other staff, each of which is highly dedicated to ensuring each and every visitor to Truk Lagoon has a comfortable stay and incredible dives! They have all the facilities to cater for everyone from the novice to the experienced tec diver and also offer Nitrox and mixed gas. For non-diving family members, they shop have options of snorkelling on 2 of Truks coral reef sanctuaries as well as day trips to Fonomu and Jeep Island. With more than 10 boats and 250 scuba tanks, they pride themselves on smaller dive groups, non-routine dives and flexibility.

Blue Lagoon Resort – San Francisco Maru Wreck

Diving Truk Lagoon is on every experienced bucket-list, even if they’ve already been there! The islands fringing coral reef protect Truk from waves and strong ocean currents meaning fantastic conditions all year-round. Most of the wrecks are only a short boat ride away from the Blue Lagoon Resort. Of course, when diving Truk you can expect some of the world’s best wreck dives, each of which boasting a fantastic history and endless war relics. See below for a small sample of what to expect.

The San Francisco Maru

117 metres long and built in 1919 and was taken out of retirement by the Japanese Navy for World War Two. She was discovered in 1972 where she sits in around 45 metres of water and is home to a myriad of reef life. The cargo holds contain sea mines, torpedoes, bombs, artillery, aircraft engines and many other artefacts. There are also 3 tanks that remain on her deck which make for fantastic photos.
