Ha’apai Divers – Humpback Whales
This dive operation boasts a number of dive sites rights near the resort, expect soft coral gardens, hard coral bommies, swim-throughs, fantastic tunnel systems, thrilling drift dives and vertical walls swarming with pelagics. Most sites can be accessed within minutes of the resort, however for those seeking pelagic action, you’ll have to head a bit further off shore. The ocean boasts crystal clear water with visibility ranging from 30 to 40 metres on average. The temperatures sit around 24 degrees all year round and can get upto 29 degrees in summer. The Cathedral
A wonderful dive on which a gap in the coral wall leads you to a large cathedral cave. Once in here, you will be in lionfish heaven with a large family of them occupying the cave. Head downwards and find a brightly colous coral garden with a number of macro critters hiding amongst the corals. The resident grouper will also join you on this dive. The maximum depth on this dive is 20m.
Ha’apai Divers – Clownfish
Kau Vai Point
If you’re in for a longer haul, jump on the boat and head out to Kau Vai Point, an island to the north of Foa. Here you will find fantastic reef shelves swarming with schooling reef sharks, dogtooth tuna, barracuda and blue trevalley. For those who like a little thrill, bull and tiger sharks have also been spotted here.
