Aquamarine Dive Centre – SS President Coolidge
Aquamarine, the only waterfront dive shop in Santo, have been in operation for over 17 years, and therefore know the waters of Santo like the back of their hand! Their location puts them in the perfect position for boat dive departures and diver training. They have professional, knowledgeable guides that make the operations of the day seamless.
The shop will keep you occupied whilst organising any dives, memorabilia including t-shirts, log books, Coolidge mementos and locally made handicrafts. Aquamarine offers a PADI resort and SSI training in spacious facilities.
DIVING
The diving in Santo is world renowned and is an incredible unique experience. Experience Million Dollar Point, in which a countless number of WWII relics it on the bottom of the ocean floor as a result of not being able to be sold by the Americans.
The famous SS President Coolidge however is he main attraction is Santo, being one of the most accessible wrecks in the world. Glide your way around the bow of the ship and along the promenade deck.

Then, find yourself entering the cargo holds, it is in the darker areas, you will find a myriad of flashlight fish – a black fish that has what appears to be a glowing smile due to the bioluminescent bacteria that inhabit the light organs found just below each eye. Inside the dark wreck, it can be an incredible sight. Swim through the dining saloon and you will spot ‘The Lady’ – a ceramic piece of art. We can guarantee that diving the Coolidge will be the experience of a lifetime! Other wrecks that can be dived include the SS Tucker, MV Henry Bonneaud, Aore Plane and Tui Tawate.
Finally, divers have the opportunity to dive a number of coral platforms, one such is the reef surrounding Aese Island. This dive offers a myriad of tropical fish inhabiting brightly coloured hard and soft corals in which there is a multitude of macro life.
