Are you travelling with the family, either young or grown? Some resorts are perfectly set up for a family diving holiday.
For the family who just wants to chill out:
Hideaway Island – Port Vila, Vanuatu
Hideaway Island is located just outside Port Vila and is accessed by a short boat shuttle ride. Stay in an Oceanside Villa and enjoy the watersports available, from great snorkelling just off the coral beach or glass bottom boat tours, to scuba diving on wrecks and reefs around the island. The resort has a freshwater pool and a little restaurant. You can easily go in to Port Vila for a meal or to visit some of the local activities such as buggy tours and the Mele Cascades waterfall.
Jean Michel Cousteau Resort – Savusavu, Fiji
If you have the budget for it, the Jean Michel Cousteau Resort just might be the best family dive holiday you take. There’s a kids club available all day, and they will assign you a nanny to be with your family for the whole time. You can even take her with you on a family picnic to a deserted isle… perfect for taking a romantic walk along the beach.

For the adventurous family
Sutera Harbour Resort – Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
From Kota Kinabalu you can go whitewater rafting, see orangutans, fireflies, and sample some of the freshest seafood from the restaurant market. The five islands in the TARP marine park are home to healthy corals and all the usual reef residents, and you can either snorkel or dive here. If you’re really adventurous, you could climb Mt Kinabalu and try the Via Ferrata… not for the faint-hearted! You can (of course) hang around the pool for a day off.

Uprising Resort – Beqa Lagoon, Fiji
Pacific Harbour is Fiji’s activity hub, where you can go whitewater rafting, zip-line (flying fox) touring, play golf, game fishing… and of course the world famous shark feed dive. Here you’ll find lemon, bull, blacktip, whitetip, silvertip sharks and even an occasional tiger shark.
