A 25 minute boat ride from the main land, once you step off the boat on the whites sands of Bokissa, all of your worries will wash away with the tide as the attentive staff show you to your new, well appointed island home. DIVING

ABOUT BOKISSA DIVE

Bokissa Island resort own and operate a certified PADI dive operator from their magnificent white sand shores. The friendly guides at Bokissa know each of the dive sites like the back of their hand and will be sure to base the days dives on the experience levels of divers as well as the conditions on the day. The dive shop also have introduction to scuba courses available for those that aren’t yet certified but are looking to give diving a go!

DIVING

The diving surrounding Bokissa is fantastic, with coral gardens, walls and even an exclusive wreck, the MV Henry Bonneaud. If you’re after something more the team will take you to the world-famous SS President Coolidge, a wreck dive that is sought after by divers throughout the world. The main dive sites visited are the SS President Coolidge, Million Dollar Point, The USS Tucker, Tutuba Point, Tutuba Reefs, Aore Island Reefs and Malo Reefs! Please see below for a small sample;

The MV Henry Bonneaud

The Bonneaud sits in about 30-40 metres of crystal clear water and is surrounded by fantastic coral gardens. The visibility around the wreck is generally about 30-40 metres and from a distance is easily recognisable as a grand ship wreck! The gorgonian fans throughout the wreck are a highlight as well as the sponges and macro life that all make for a great photo. Find your way to the engine room and you’ll witness an intact engine with gauges, valves and equipment still in its spots – an awe-inspiring sight.

The USS Tucker

The USS Tucker is located in around 17-21 metres of water and displays the remains of a shipwreck that, over time, have turned into a fantastic artificial reef. Every nook and cranny of the wreck is now teeming with fish as well as an incredible layer of hard and soft coral growth. The middle area of the ship, whilst completely destroyed, is now home to a number of larger fish including dogface puffer fish, giant triggerfish, sweet lips, parrotfish and even rays.
