ABOVE THE WATER
Arranged in a half moon shape, the Maluku island range from Halmahera Island in the North down to Wetar Island in the east. This region plays home to clear, tropical waters that are teeming with marine life and is the centre of the largest biodiversity in all of the Indo-Pacific. There is a wide array of different types of marine life that are unique to the local area with most reefs remaining untouched.
BELOW THE WATER
As well as pristine reef, Ambon Island is fast becoming known as one of the best muck diving locations in the world. Sites are less crowded, offer colourful walls, caves and swim-throughs and are teeming with lots of healthy marine life and small critters including Ambon Scorpionfish, Rhinopias, Mimic and Wonderpus Octopus, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Nudibranchs galore, Frogfish, Harlequin Shrimp, Coleman Shrimp and many other species.
The climate is tropical with temperatures of approx. 28 to 35°C all year. Water temperature is approx. 27 to 30°C.
