Above The Water

Savusavu is a town on Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island about 1 hour flight from Nadi. There are a myriad of activities, tours and accommodation options available in Savusavu. The area is famous for its hot springs, and you can actually see the steam rising from several points along the coast. Activites range from adrenaline pumping sports including diving with sharks, kayaking, helicopter rides and more, right down to those that will put you into an ultimate state of relaxation.

The diving off Savusavu has something for everyone. There are relatively sheltered sites in the huge bay, offering a number of interesting underwater landscapes. For the more experienced and adventurous, there are a number of thrilling sites further out past the bay. The currents here are steady however and divers need a few years of experience under their belt to battle them. The underwater landscapes at each site are different with everything from plunging vertical walls to breathtaking sea mounts. Divers generally come to Savusavu to see the beautiful coloured hard and soft corals that make up the stunning reefs.
