  1. You don’t have to break the bank

Overseas holidays can be tailored to suit just about any budget. A reputable dive travel agent will be sure to consider your budget when booking accommodation, flights and dives.

A reputable dive travel agent should be able to organise your airport and internal transfers, accommodation, dives, hire equipment, flights, tours, insurance, govt. taxes and more before you’ve left the country.

Yes that’s right, they’re not photo shopped – see it in the Maldives, Boracay in The Philippines, Cocos Island in Costa Rica, The Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico … the list goes on.

  1. Liveaboards are a great option see the best of the ocean

Imagine untouched, remote diving locations, that the average diver cannot access and you’ve got yourself liveaboard diving! They’re also great value for money, all inclusive and you’re likely to make life-long friends.

  1. You can bring non-divers with you

There are a multitude of options for non-divers travelling with their spouse/ family on diving holidays. They can snorkel, visit local villages, trek through forest, kayak lagoons, participate in cooking classes… the options are endless.

  1. Yes, you’ll be safe!

A good travel agent will recommend good overseas dive operators with clean reputations, safe practices and experienced staff. As well as this, a reputable insurance company that offer a number of cover options to suit your specific holiday is important.

  1. Stopovers are a great option

This is the perfect way to discover the land as well as the sea. Coordinate a land extension pre or post so you can make the most of your trip. 1. Travel Insurance matters!

Be aware that your credit card insurance may not be enough cover for a diving holiday. Often they do not cover dive specific medicals or emergency evacuation. DAN on the other hand, covers diving medical and emergency evacuation specifically, therefore if personal items go missing, travel is delayed etc. you may not be covered. Ensure you carefully scan product disclosure statements to see what you are covered for and feel comfortable with your insurance provider.
